Cobble Together a Great Garden: Your Guide to Cobble Setts
Cobblestones and cobble setts (setts are square and cobbles are round) have been a staple in construction and landscaping for centuries. The oldest roads in the world, dating back thousands of years, were constructed using cobblestones, and many of these roads are still in use today. Notable examples include the Appian Way in Rome and the roads of ancient Mesopotamia. These historical uses underscore the durability and timeless appeal of cobblestones, making them an excellent choice for a variety of modern applications.
Transforming Spaces
Cobble setts are not only practical but also add a timeless elegance to any project. They can be seamlessly integrated into both traditional and contemporary settings, enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space.
In traditional settings, cobble setts are ideal for restoring historical buildings, creating vintage-style gardens, and maintaining the authenticity of period properties. Their natural look and feel complement the classic architecture and design elements.
For contemporary projects, cobble setts provide a unique texture and visual interest. They can be used to create modern, stylish driveways, chic garden paths, and trendy courtyards, adding a touch of sophistication and durability.
